Community & Environment

Matty began his career consulting for various NGO’s, as an eco-communicator and educator.

In 2009, after experiencing the devastating earthquake of West Sumatra, he worked with SurfAid International to co-design and manage their first psychosocial program for the devastated communities. It was successful and in later years was re-implemented for other natural disasters in different regions of the country.

During another phase with SurfAid in Indonesia, he was given the opportunity to produce 3 short films for village communities. This experience ultimately became the catalyst for his transition away from report writing, towards creative media.

Matty’s passion for social and environmental projects is just as strong as ever, evidenced through his recent work with The Orangutan Foundation and The Indigenous Education Foundation.
